Daily Wisdom 29 - If you want to test a person's character, give him power/authority

 If you want to test a person's character, give him power/ authority.

How true this is, we can see from those leaders of the countries in this world.

once come to power, the true character showed up glaringly.

Power corrupt, absolute power corrupt absolutely.

History told us it had been countless examples when a person came to power, the real character showed up.

Before a person came to power, he was so humble and approachable and always had a listening ears to the plight of people.

However all these changed once he came to power and getting worse if he was in power too long.

When a person thinks that he does not need to listen to anyone advice or others' help, that is the most vulnerable point of his time.

When a leader thinks he is not indispensable, that is the time he is to be replaced.

We should be more humble when we have some achievement, this way we can continue to grow and improve, if not , everything will be lost in totality in no time.

In this universe, changes take place and things given to you will be taken away in a split second, whatever happen happens and it happens for a reason, which is beyond our imagination and expectation.

The moral of the story is - do not forget your root and the people who help you along the way on your way up, be humble always.

    Another way to get a glimpse of a person character is to see how the person treat people who is in lower status than him or her. Like to a waiter, cleaner, or a subordinate under his/her purview. We often gives away our true self away when there is stress, slight annoyance or troubles.
